Ed Shovelin serves as Operations Director, Engineering Manager and Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs Manager at Pplus Medical, where he oversees the company’s Irish operations and ensures seamless integration of quality, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing excellence.

Since joining Pplus in 2021, Ed has brought extensive expertise in navigating the complex regulatory landscape of medical device manufacturing. His deep knowledge spans ISO 13485, MDR, FDA CFR 21 Part 820, IEC 62304, and ISO 14971—the critical frameworks that underpin safe, compliant medical device production.

As manager of external manufacturing processes, Ed coordinates complex operations across multiple sites, maintaining quality and consistency whilst scaling production to meet growing global demand. His oversight of Irish operations positions Pplus for continued growth, ensuring the company’s infrastructure can support both current products and future innovations.  Ed holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, a MSC in Medical Device Regulatory Affairs and a Postgraduate certificate in Leadership and Change.
